“I had been wearing glasses since I was 8 years old because of shortsightedness and astigmatism. I eventually reached more than -5 dioptres. Since adolescence, I often wore contact lenses. With regular ones, I didn’t see well; the toric ones started to bother me after just a few hours, and my eyes would become dry very quickly.

I had been thinking about undergoing laser eye surgery for a long time, but I was also afraid of it. Dr. Novak always had enough time for all my questions and doubts and examined my eyes very thoroughly before and after the surgery.

In autumn 2014, I finally decided to go through with the surgery – and it was the right decision. Not only Dr. Novak but all of his staff were very helpful, kind, and reassuring, explaining each step of the surgery and the aftercare more than once. The procedure was fast and done in a single session. My eyes were irritated right after the operation, but the next day I could see clearly – for the first time in my life. One year later, I still see perfectly, and it’s a wonderful feeling. I can only recommend this surgery – especially with the excellent care at the Refractive Center Prague.”
