Which type of contact lenses to choose?
There exists a huge number of different brands and types of contact lenses on the market. This ensures that everyone will be able to choose ones that are best suited for his/her needs. Naturally, an important prerequisite is a thorough eye examination beforehand. Contact lenses are suitable not only for correcting near as well as far-sightedness but also for the correction of astigmatism and presbyopia (the natural, age-related deterioration of eye sight common after the age of 40). Nowadays there are also multifocal contact lenses available on the market. Contact lenses are further split into soft and hard lenses depending on what material they are manufactured from. Another important subdivision is according to the length of time the lenses may be worn for. Here too it is important to establish your individual needs so as to determine which type of contact lenses will suit you best and how often you plan to wear your contact lenses.
