Laser Eye Surgery
Laser Eye Surgery
The advanced lasers of today enable minimally invasive, fast and painless elimination of common vision issues such as short-sightedness, far-sightedness or possibly a combination of the two or with symmetrical astigmatism.
The essence of these procedures is the modelling of the tissue of the cornea through the effect of a laser ray. The ray is capable of removing a very thin pre-determined layer of tissue once it falls onto the surface of the cornea. The energy of the laser radiation can disconnect the individual molecules of the corneal tissue leading to their evaporation. Each and every pulse of the excimer laser is capable of removing corneal tissue with a precision of 0.25 microns. The distribution of the laser pulses is directed by a computer through apertures and by gradual lowering of the tissue the required curvature of the cornea is achieved and this its optical robustness.
