“I had been thinking about getting laser surgery for my eyes for quite a long time – maybe five or six years. I even went to the clinic once to get it done, but then got cold feet and decided to postpone. To be honest, I wasn’t really afraid of anything, but because I only had -1.0 diopters, I decided not to undergo the laser surgery at that time.
I’ve always been very interested in all kinds of sports. I like to play hockey, golf, and other sports as well, and to have sharp vision I had to wear contact lenses. But I wasn’t too big of a fan of them. It was always a hassle to put them on, sometimes I forgot them, and once in a while I’d drop one and didn’t have a spare.
Then one day, a good friend of mine told me about his very positive experience with the surgery and Dr. Novák. I thought – now is the time for me to do it too! Already the next day after our discussion, I called to make an appointment for the preliminary tests. Dr. Klečka was extremely helpful and gave clear answers to all of my questions and responded very professionally to my concerns. I had absolutely no reason to say no and booked the surgery right away.
I have to admit that when the surgery date came, I had butterflies in my stomach. Usually, I’m not scared of medical procedures, but when the future of your eyesight is on the line, it’s a different story. Still, all my fear turned out to be unnecessary. Dr. Novák calmly explained every stage of the procedure before and during the operation, which made me feel completely secure. Overall, the operation itself was extremely quick, no more than 20 minutes total, and both eyes were operated on. Amazing!
I did experience quite a bit of discomfort during the evening after the surgery, but by the next morning, it was practically gone. I already had what I would consider perfect vision, and I was fully back at work. A couple of days later, my vision was even better than perfect. It may sound strange, but you wouldn’t believe how great it feels to see your golf drive all the way to the end.
If you’re considering laser surgery, I’d definitely recommend going for it. It really does have a positive impact on your life.
