Leontinka Foundation helps those suffering from vision impairment with the main area of its focus being children and young adults. The mission of this foundation is to enable these people to fully integrate themselves into society as a whole – especially where education, social, sport and past-time activities are concerned. Leontinka divides financial as well as other donations via a range of projects each aiming to help an individual institution or a specific child. It accumulates means especially through donations from individuals, partners, sponsors and charity events.
The main activities of the Leontinka Foundation are:
- Co-operation with specialised schools for children with vision impairment, helping in bettering the quality of education through teaching aids, equipment as well as other related activities.
- Contributing to improving the equipment in specialised clinics, hospitals, educational centres and other institutions that help children with vision impairment.
- Increasing the accessibility to special instruments, aids, technologies as well as training and treating programs.
- Co-operating with other non-profit organisations in helping those suffering from vision impairment.
- Informing the general public about the needs of children with vision impairment.
- Helping in developing the prevention of diseases affecting eye sight, encouraging research and the implementation of new treatment methods.
