We are pleased to announce that at our clinic we now offer the possibility of an eye examination using the brand new OCT Retina Scan Duo from NIDEK – a renowned producer of such equipment.
This machine combines two state-of-the-art technologies – the Optical coherence tomography (OCT) and fundus camera which enables us to examine the eye’s retina and other parts in great detail and with great precision.
Benefits of this examination
OCT Retina Scan Duo is an extraordinary piece of machinery for timely detection of eye diseases such as glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy, macular degeneration as well as various issues affecting the retina. Due to its ability to provide detailed images of the layers of the retina and mapping out its condition we are in a position to provide precise diagnostic information that may significantly improve the care or treatment required.
In addition this machine also enables examination of the eye’s anterior segment specifically the cornea and the iridocorneal angle which is essential particularly in patients where there is suspicion of glaucoma.
This machine also provides greater comfort to our patients due to its fast and precise scanning. As a result of its high resolution it assists in making a more accurate diagnosis and as such facilitates much more effective intervention. The examination is entirely painless and relatively short with the results being available straight away.
This examination is not covered by public health insurance providers but its price may be found in our price list.
