“I had 20/20 vision until about 12 years ago, when I started working with computers. Then my eyesight quickly deteriorated – at first, I only needed glasses for driving, but eventually, I had to wear them all the time.
“Permanently” was a problem, as I had a knack for losing, stepping on, or breaking my glasses. If I was reading, I’d put them on my head, and when I returned them to my nose, they were either tangled in my hair or covered with fingerprints. Contact lenses weren’t the solution either – they made my eyes dry, itchy, and eventually prone to infections.
I am the director of two companies: Sparkys s.r.o., an expanding chain of toy and gift shops (which will have 15 locations by the end of 2005), and Piccollo s.r.o., the exclusive distributor of Chicco, Columbia Sportswear, and Loap.
