To undergo laser surgery at Refrakcni Center in Prague has been one of the best decisions of my life. I had -3 dioptres on both eyes before the surgery and had been wearing contact lenses for many years, constantly having trouble with them because of dry eyes and irritations. So I decided to get examined at Refrakcni center, as prices were much more affordable than in Switzerland. As it turned out I was an excellent candidate for the laser surgery, so I decided to go for it. The team at Refrakcni Center was very friendly and Dr. Novak extremely competent and confidence inspiring, and I felt well informed and taken care of. The surgery itself was incredibly short and completely painless. The evening and night after the surgery was very unpleasant and painful, just as predicted by the doctor. But when I woke up the next morning I opened my eyes – and for the first time in 25 years I could SEE! I actually started crying because the experience was so overwhelming. The pain was already almost gone by then, and the post-surgery exam showed that I had now what they call “eagle-eye” – perfect vision. Although the doctor cautioned that I might have problems with dry eyes for months to come, these were actually gone after about 14 days and I haven’t had any trouble since (it has been 6 months now). The surgery was a huge success, surpassing my own and the doctors expectations, and I am truly grateful for the increased quality of life it has granted me.
