“I am a 21-year-old boy from Norway who recently had laser eye surgery on both eyes at the Refrakční Centrum in Prague. I had about -1.50 diopters in both eyes, so it wasn’t too bad, but I had been using glasses and contact lenses for about four years and was really looking forward to getting rid of them.
I heard that the surgeons at this clinic had performed more than 7,000 LASIK surgeries, so they had a lot of experience. Because of that, I had no doubts about going to Prague for the procedure. It’s also much more expensive to have this surgery in Norway – about three times more expensive. I found out about this clinic from my sister, who studies at a medical school in Prague, and she helped me set up the appointment. A couple of weeks later, I flew to Prague.
On the first day, I had an eye examination where they checked my vision and explained everything about the surgery. They were very thorough and made sure I understood every step, so I felt I was in good hands right from the start. On the second day, I had the surgery. It was over in just three minutes, and I could barely feel anything – a strange experience, I have to say. I felt some pain a few hours later, but nothing worth mentioning.
The next day, when I removed the eye patches, I had no pain and my vision was perfect. It was amazing – everything looked so clear. I went for a follow-up exam, and they confirmed that the surgery had been successful.
Now, three weeks later, I have perfect vision and no problems with my eyes. I’m very glad I did this and want to thank everyone at the Refrakční Centrum in Prague. They were incredibly kind and helpful, and they made me feel comfortable before, during, and after the surgery.
I also have to mention that I was the first Norwegian to undergo this surgery at the clinic – so I’m a little bit proud.” 😉
