Karolína Kokešová, one of the most beautiful women on a global scale, is a model, traveller, sportsperson, and the owner of her own brand. Until recently, glasses were an important part of her image. Due to her work and lifestyle, she decided to get rid of them once and for all.
“I was short-sighted with -5 dioptres, and without glasses, I wouldn’t even have recognised my own mother. That was obviously quite distressing. I never minded wearing glasses – on the contrary, I always liked them and considered them both a fashion accessory and a relief for my eyes after wearing contact lenses a lot. I used contacts for work and sports, but after a while, my eyes would often become red and tired, so I needed a break now and then.”
Karolína got the impulse and courage to go ahead with the surgery from her mother and now shares her feelings with us.
“Of course, some unpleasant scenarios crossed my mind. These were my eyes we were talking about, so the thought of surgery wasn’t exactly something I was looking forward to – but I trusted Dr. Novák completely. My family ophthalmologist recommended RCP, and I also knew that it was the only clinic in the Czech Republic with the iDESIGN iLASIK laser.”
“After the surgery, I almost wept with happiness. It was an amazing feeling to wake up and see perfectly straight away, after struggling with my vision my entire life. The morning after the procedure, this feeling was even stronger, as my vision had already improved so much. I enjoyed each new day more and more as everything settled, and I was no longer so sensitive to light.”
What are Karolína’s thoughts on the benefits of surgery in retrospect?
“The freedom is exhilarating. At first, I just walked around town, intentionally looking at buildings and my surroundings – and I couldn’t believe how well I could see. For a while after the surgery, I still felt like I had my contact lenses in and needed to take them out before going to sleep. But then it suddenly hit me – I no longer had them, because I no longer needed them.”
Karolína would like to tell everyone that although the idea of surgery may seem scary, there is absolutely nothing to fear nowadays – and if you choose the right clinic, it can be a truly life-changing experience.
