“I had the LASIK procedure done in Prague in late July, to both of my eyes, during our family’s trip through Central Europe this summer. My husband and I have a 7-year-old girl and a 4-year-old boy. Before our trip, we researched “medical tourism LASIK” online and made the necessary appointments for the procedure with Refractive Center Prague. The expense was less than half of what it costs where I live in the San Francisco Bay Area.
Our family stayed in Prague near Pavlova Station for 5 nights. We were there as tourists exploring Prague – its wonderful playgrounds, parks, buildings, and culture – but also over the course of three consecutive days of appointments for the LASIK procedure. The office is very conveniently located next to the Praha Hlavní Nádraží train station.
Great experience! (Warning: bring something to read for the first pre-exam appointment.) The office was professional, easy to get to, the procedure was simple, the doctor was great, and it was easy to communicate (I speak no Czech).
The nurses were pleasant, straightforward, always asked if I had any questions. The office was clean and comfortable, and they even offered tea, coffee, and snacks!
After the surgery, I slept well, but I found it beyond magical to wake up in Prague without needing any help seeing. I was able to walk to the appointment by myself – our apartment was just a short 10-minute walk away. I had numerous “Oh-Ah!!” moments on the walk to my last appointment… just beautiful… I had to take it all in.
It truly was lovely – I won’t ever forget it. Such a beautiful place to have a LASIK procedure done! Recovery was awesome! Two knocks for perfect – knock! knock!
I wake up every day thankful that I was able to have this surgery done at this clinic, and grateful to see clearly without assistance. It feels like a huge weight has been lifted off my shoulders, and I’ve gained so much in so many ways. Time is precious.
